What We Believe
The LGBTQ+ Faith Alliance is an inclusive coalition of straight allies and LGBTQIA2S+ people from various faith communities in the greater St. Louis area. We believe everyone should feel welcome, safe, and affirmed in God’s beloved communities.
Our members represent congregations from various faith traditions, including American Baptist, Catholic, Disciples of Christ, Episcopalian, Reformed Judaism, Jewish, Lutheran (ELCA), Metropolitan Community Church, Presbyterian, United Church of Christ, United Methodist Church, and Unitarian Universalism. We work toward the full inclusion of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, and two-spirit persons in our interfaith places of worship and throughout our society. We recognize and grieve the religious trauma — past and present — experienced by many of our LGBTQIA2S+ siblings, and we pledge to work toward reconciliation through education, advocacy, community service/outreach, and sharing of our resources. We gather monthly in-person or online.
Statement of Support
In Spring 2026, we released our Statement of Support for Trans, Intersex and Nonbinary Missourians that, in part, declares all people are beloved and are created in the image of God and calls on those in positions of power to stop demonizing transgender people. This short video is an excerpt of our statement’s presentation.
